XPeng GX has successfully completed an extreme driving challenge on Daguniu Mountain in Yunnan Province, navigating 49 consecutive hairpin turns in a single, uninterrupted run. The 5-kilometer stretch features 49 continuous switchbacks with an elevation drop exceeding 1,000 meters, consisting entirely of steep-gradient hairpin bends. At low speeds, the vehicle achieves a minimum steering ratio of 0.6 turns and a turning radius of just 5.4 meters. At medium speeds, the steering ratio increases linearly with vehicle speed to enhance steering precision. At high speeds, the maximum steering ratio reaches 1.4 turns, supported by rear-wheel steering that operates in phase with the front wheels. The XPeng GX is the brand’s first full-size luxury SUV, launched for pre-sale on April 15 with a starting price of RMB 399,800. Built on XPeng’s next-generation physical AI technology architecture, SEPA 3.0, the GX is positioned as a flagship AI-powered luxury six-seater SUV, integrating technologies such as the Robotaxi autonomous driving system, safety redundancy designs from flying cars, embodied intelligence chips, and their corresponding architectures. It is offered in two powertrain variants: a battery-electric version with a 750-km CLTC range priced at RMB 399,800, and a range-extended version offering 430 km of pure electric range and a combined range of 1,585 km—also priced at RMB 399,800.
