Audi is planning to restructure its business operations in the Chinese market. According to reports, FAW Audi will be responsible for all internal combustion engine models as well as electric vehicles bearing the iconic four-ring logo, while SAIC Audi will focus exclusively on "AUDI," a new all-electric brand jointly established by SAIC Motor and Audi in 2024. This new brand has already launched two all-electric models: the E5 and the E7X. Negotiations are still ongoing and details have not yet been finalized, but the three parties expect to officially announce the restructuring plan soon. Additionally, Audi and SAIC Motor signed an agreement on April 17 to deepen their strategic cooperation, under which they will establish an innovation and technology center in Shanghai led by AUDI AG. The center will focus on R&D for intelligent electrification technologies and full-value-chain vehicle development for smart, connected cars.
