Leapmotor Lafa 5 OTA Update Unlocks Urban Navigation Assist and More

Leapmotor Lafa5 began rolling out its OTA update on May 16, introducing six new features and optimizing 11 user experiences. This update delivers differentiated functionalities tailored to various trim levels (Plus, Pro, and Max). The Max trim now enables City Navigation Pilot assistance and adds a one-touch parking shortcut. Users can assign this function to a customizable button—double-tapping triggers automatic parking into a recommended spot. Additionally, the memory parking logic has been refined: if the designated parking spot at the destination is occupied, the system will automatically search for an available nearby space. All trims (Plus, Pro, and Max) now include streamlined versions of Kuwo Music, Lanren TingShu, and Fanshu apps. Voice control support has been extended to these newly added apps as well as NetEase Cloud Music and QQ Music, including voice-activated access to personalized playlists. The voice assistant now supports more natural, conversational commands and provides pop-up confirmations during interactions. The 360-degree camera system gains a new wheel-view assist angle to reduce low-speed blind spots. Parking assistance improvements include enhanced selection of exit direction for perpendicular parking spaces and an automatic vehicle alignment feature after exiting either parallel or perpendicular spots. Other enhancements include: - Optimized battery pre-conditioning before charging to improve charging efficiency. - “Leaper Space” now supports voice-command control and introduces trending and early-access content scenarios. - Navigation now allows deletion of individual route history entries. - Improved readability of fonts and Widget cards in the infotainment interface. - Added NFC digital car key support for Android phones, along with improved reliability of Bluetooth key locking/unlocking. - Refined safety current-limiting strategy for the portable charging gun. - Ambient lighting now offers two modes: full-cabin illumination or center-zone-only lighting. - Enhanced performance and energy efficiency of the air conditioning anti-mold function. - Upgraded B-Call emergency roadside assistance communication link; the legacy version will be phased out starting July 30, 2026.
