Self-media blogger "Long Ge Talks EVs" has been sued separately by three automakers—BYD, Seres, and XPeng—for publishing false and disparaging statements about them. In the lawsuit filed by BYD, the second-instance court ruled that the blogger must pay RMB 2 million in compensation and release a video to mitigate the negative impact; BYD had initially sought RMB 5 million in damages. On May 11, the blogger issued a public apology regarding the Seres case, and the court found him liable for infringement, ordering him to pay RMB 160,000 in compensation. Separately, the Guangzhou Internet Court ruled in XPeng’s lawsuit that the blogger’s affiliated company, Beijing FullCharge Technology Co., Ltd., must delete the infringing content, issue a public apology, and compensate XPeng RMB 100,000. The total compensation awarded across the three cases exceeds RMB 2.26 million.
