Tesla has officially released a video demonstrating the automatic rebound feature of the Model Y's electric rear seats and trunk, which activates when an obstacle is detected during folding or closing. In the test, a toy duck was used as the obstacle; when the seat or tailgate made contact with the duck, it immediately stopped and reversed direction. Tao Lin, Tesla’s Vice President for Global Affairs, shared the video and commented, “Tesla’s safety lies in every subtle detail.” Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Tesla’s official Asia social media account also reposted the video, with the latter explaining that the feature is designed to protect both passengers and cargo.
