XPeng has officially rolled off the production line its first Robotaxi based on the XPeng GX—the first fully in-house developed, front-loaded mass-produced Robotaxi in China and the country’s first Robotaxi to achieve Level 4 autonomous driving using a pure vision-based solution. Built on XPeng’s flagship GX model, the vehicle is equipped with four self-developed Turing AI chips, delivering an effective computing power of 3,000 TOPS—the highest onboard computing performance globally to date—and integrates XPeng’s second-generation VLA large model to enable Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities. XPeng plans to launch pilot operations of its autonomous ride-hailing service in the second half of 2024, aiming to achieve fully driverless operations without on-site safety operators by early 2027.
