Xiaomi Auto stated that the YU7 GT underwent testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife primarily to validate the vehicle's stability under various extreme conditions and refine its cornering performance. The Nürburgring Nordschleife, known for its complex sections featuring high-speed jumps and consecutive bumps, effectively exposes dynamic handling issues in vehicles. The YU7 GT achieved an impressive lap time on this track, though this result represents only a阶段性 milestone within an ongoing testing process. The YU7 GT that broke the Nürburgring production EV lap record was equipped with the optional "Track Pro Package," featuring semi-slick tires measuring 265mm front and 325mm rear, along with widened rear fender flares. The car was modified for safety in accordance with Nürburgring requirements, including a full roll cage, racing bucket seats, six-point harnesses, and partial interior removal to optimize weight distribution. This version has received official certification from the Nürburgring as a production vehicle. The YU7 GT is powered by a dual-motor system delivering a combined output of 1,003 horsepower while achieving a CLTC-rated range of 705 km. The rear motor uses Xiaomi’s next-generation “V8s EVO” super motor, which offers a 5.9% increase in power over its predecessor and achieves an efficiency of 98.38%. The front motor employs the V6s Plus unit. Standard equipment includes a 101.7 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, an 897V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, and a 5.2C charging rate—enabling both high performance and extended range. The YU7 GT features an eLSD (electronic limited-slip differential) capable of limiting speed differences between the left and right rear wheels within milliseconds. On slippery or complex surfaces, this system redirects torque to the wheel with better traction, enhancing off-road capability; during cornering, it allocates more power to the outer wheel, improving cornering stability and steering precision. This configuration played a critical role in the YU7 GT’s Nürburgring performance. Positioned as a “grand tourer-grade SUV suitable for long-distance travel,” the YU7 GT is not a hardcore off-roader but does offer some unpaved-road capability. It comes standard with closed twin-chamber air springs, providing up to 219 mm of ground clearance, and includes an eLSD, skid-resistant underbody cross beams, and bullet-resistant coating to minimize the risk of battery damage. Xiaomi advises drivers to exercise caution when navigating challenging terrain. Regarding OTA updates, Xiaomi Auto employs a phased rollout strategy segmented by model and batch to ensure update stability. HyperOS version 1.16 is currently being rolled out incrementally across the SU7, YU7, and next-generation SU7 models. Some users have received version 1.16.0, while others have directly received the optimized 1.16.2 version. Users who have already upgraded to 1.16.0 are advised to further upgrade to 1.16.2 to benefit from enhanced system stability and smoother performance.
