On May 21, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, stated in a media interview that since the very beginning of Xiaomi's foray into electric vehicles, the company has been expected by outsiders to surpass Tesla. He noted that Xiaomi's YU7, launched last year, delivered an impressive performance and believes the model has the potential to outperform the Tesla Model Y. Lei emphasized that describing the YU7 as "on par with Porsche and Tesla" is not an exaggeration, and he urged the public to be patient with Xiaomi's automotive endeavors, asking for another five years of support.
