Geely Auto recently held a new energy vehicle launch event in Casablanca, Morocco, officially announcing its entry into the local new energy market and unveiling two models: the Geely EX2 and the Geely EX5 EM-i. The event attracted approximately 300 local media representatives, partners, and industry professionals. The Geely EX2 is a compact all-electric vehicle measuring 4.14 meters in length, designed primarily for urban commuting and short-distance travel. The Geely EX5 EM-i is a plug-in hybrid SUV equipped with Geely’s next-generation EM-i hybrid technology, offering an all-electric range of 112 kilometers, making it suitable for family use and long-distance travel. The Geely EX5 EM-i was first introduced to the Moroccan market in December 2025. With the addition of the EX2, Geely has further strengthened its local product portfolio featuring both pure electric and hybrid offerings. Leveraging Morocco’s strategic location—proximity to Europe, access to free trade agreements, and well-developed port infrastructure—Geely plans to use the country as a hub to expand into North African and European markets, while continuing to advance its “dual-track strategy” of internal combustion engine and new energy vehicles to support Morocco’s transition toward green mobility.
