The SAIC Motor MG4X all-electric SUV has officially launched in China, with an official manufacturer-suggested retail price (MSRP) ranging from RMB 99,800 to RMB 116,800 and a promotional price from RMB 92,800 to RMB 109,800. Built on SAIC’s Nebula pure-electric architecture, the MG4X inherits the design language of the MG4 while adding a new full-width light bar. It measures 4,500 mm in length, 1,849 mm in width, and 1,621 mm (or 1,627 mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm, positioning it as a compact SUV. Inside, the cabin features an enveloping, premium-oriented layout, with 86% of surfaces wrapped in soft-touch materials. It comes equipped with a flat-bottomed dual-spoke multifunction steering wheel and an electronic shift-by-wire gear selector. The base model includes a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen. The infotainment system integrates Doubao large-model ecosystem capabilities, supports four-zone voice interaction, and offers smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, and Carlink. In terms of intelligent driving, the Freedom trim is powered by Horizon Robotics’ Journey J3 chip and equipped with five cameras and eight ultrasonic sensors, enabling L2-level driver assistance. The Smart Enjoy trim features the more advanced Horizon Journey J6E chip, along with six cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and three millimeter-wave radars—totaling 21 sensors—to support L2+ driver assistance functions. Powering the rear-wheel-drive MG4X are two electric motor options: one delivering 150 kW and the other 125 kW. They are paired respectively with a 64.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a 53.9 kWh manganese-based semi-solid-state lithium-ion battery. Under CLTC testing conditions, these configurations offer ranges of 610 km and 510 km, respectively.
