At the intelligent strategy launch event held on May 28, Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD, announced that the L3/L4 versions of its "Tianshen Eye" autonomous driving system will be equipped for the first time with ultra-high-line-count LiDAR, flash cameras, and dual far-infrared cameras. Wang stated that high-level autonomous driving is shifting from being "out of reach" to "just around the corner." He also noted that while the core of electrification competition lies in batteries, the key to intelligent competition lies in chips, adding that BYD is the first domestic company to achieve mass production of automotive-grade IGBT and SiC power chips.
