On May 29, 2026, the Dongfeng Yipai M8 made its global debut at the Greater Bay Area Auto Show and simultaneously appeared on Huawei Qiankun’s exhibition stand. As the first product launched following the strategic partnership upgrade between Dongfeng Yipai and Huawei Qiankun, the M8 is positioned as a six-seater SUV tailored for young urban families. The Yipai M8 is equipped with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro intelligent driving system, featuring 27 smart perception sensors and supporting end-to-end NCA (Navigate with Cognitive Assistance) driving assistance, all-scenario intelligent parking, and comprehensive collision-avoidance capabilities. It also integrates the “Smart Six-Pack”: HarmonySpace 5.2 intelligent cockpit, HUAWEI SOUND 21-speaker audio system, Qiankun Cloud, Qiankun Vehicle Control, and WhaleFin connectivity. HarmonySpace 5.2 adopts the MoLA architecture, enabling multimodal active perception and response. It features a 16.1-inch 3K central touchscreen, Super Desktop, and seamless cross-device task continuity. The professionally tuned audio system supports karaoke without microphones and immersive panoramic sound. Qiankun Vehicle Control employs a five-in-one module for millisecond-level responsiveness; Qiankun Cloud offers remote vehicle preparation, Sentry Mode, and StarFlash digital key; WhaleFin connectivity supports dual-SIM 5G for robust network stability. In terms of powertrain and safety, the Yipai M8 uses the Yipai Golden Shield battery, integrating a 16,000-ton一体化压铸 battery pack and CATL LFP high-specific-energy cells. The BEV variant is built on an 800V SiC high-voltage platform, delivering a CLTC range of 600 km and supporting 4C ultra-fast charging. The chassis, tuned by a motorsport engineering team, features an aluminum H-arm rear suspension and EDC intelligent damping system that automatically adjusts damping force within 25–50 milliseconds. Exterior design follows the “Wind Rising, Cloud Unfolding” design language, offering five body colors, three interior color schemes, and three wheel options. With an overall length of approximately 5 meters and a wheelbase exceeding 3 meters, the vehicle achieves a wheelbase-to-length ratio of 60.3%. Key features include dual first-class cabin seats, dual panoramic displays, a bidirectional smart climate-controlled console box, and a 50-inch AR-HUD. For safety, the vehicle employs a high-strength cage-type body structure. The cabin is upholstered in OEKO-TEX-certified, baby-friendly, skin-friendly materials. Dongfeng provides lifetime warranty coverage for both the entire vehicle and its triple electric systems (battery, motor, and electronics). The Yipai M8 is scheduled to officially launch in the third quarter of 2026.
