Tesla China Launches Official Model Y Sunshade – ¥1,499, Fits Only Models Built After February 2025

On June 1, Tesla China announced the launch of an official manual retractable sunshade specifically designed for the Model Y, priced at RMB 1,499. Sales will begin at 10:00 a.m. on June 4. Crafted from the same fabric as the vehicle’s original headliner, the sunshade features a metallic-finish pull handle and integrates a one-piece roller mechanism that ensures quiet, smooth operation and easy installation. It supports full installation even when the rear seats are folded down and offers dual-zone independent adjustment, allowing users to control the shaded area according to their needs. Secured by front and rear pins, the sunshade effectively blocks intense summer sunlight, reduces cabin temperature, and alleviates the "baking head" discomfort often associated with panoramic roofs. The accessory has passed full-vehicle airbag deployment tests and multiple road durability evaluations, confirming it does not interfere with airbag functionality. It should be noted that this sunshade is compatible only with Model Y vehicles produced from February 2025 onward; earlier models are not supported.
