In May 2026, XPeng Inc. delivered 32,158 vehicles, a 4% increase from the previous month. On May 20, the XPeng GX officially launched and began deliveries, offering both all-electric and super extended-range powertrain options across eight variants. Within 12 hours of its launch, the vehicle received 24,863 firm orders, with the Ultra flagship variant accounting for over 80% of total orders. In the same month, China’s first OEM-developed, front-loaded, mass-produced L4 Robotaxi—based on the XPeng GX—rolled off the production line in Guangzhou. Equipped with four self-developed Turing AI chips, the vehicle delivers 3,000 TOPS of local effective computing power and achieves system response latency under 80 milliseconds. It operates without reliance on high-definition maps or LiDAR and is capable of cross-city deployment. The Robotaxi is currently undergoing limited-scale public-road L4 testing in Guangzhou, with pilot operations scheduled to commence in Q3. Also in May, the XOS 6.2.0 software update began rolling out to vehicles equipped with Turing chips, including the Ultra, Ultra SE, Max, and MONA Plus models. The Ultra and Ultra SE variants received the second iteration of the second-generation VLA (Vision-Language Action) system, extending their map-free roaming capability to campuses and underground parking lots, enabling XPeng’s NGP (Navigation Guided Pilot) to operate continuously across a broader range of scenarios. On May 28, XPeng Inc. released its Q1 2026 financial results: gross margin stood at 20.6%, up 5 percentage points year-over-year; service and other revenue reached RMB 2.03 billion, a 41.2% year-over-year increase; R&D expenses totaled RMB 2.91 billion, up 46.8% year-over-year; and cash reserves amounted to RMB 42.09 billion. For Q2, the company provided delivery guidance of 100,000 to 106,000 vehicles, representing a 59.54% to 69.11% sequential increase, and revenue guidance of RMB 19.6 billion to RMB 20.8 billion, reflecting a 50.38% to 59.59% sequential growth. As of May 31, XPeng’s charging network covered more than 430 cities, with over 3,600 self-operated charging stations, including more than 3,100 ultra-fast charging stations.
