Two plug-in hybrid MPVs from GAC Trumpchi—the Trumpchi Xiangwang M8 PHEV L and the Trumpchi Xiangwang E8 PHEV—will officially launch on June 11. The Xiangwang M8 PHEV L opened for pre-orders on May 25, offering three trims: AWD Ultra, AWD Max, and RWD Pro, though pricing has not yet been disclosed. Currently, the Trumpchi M8 lineup includes nine models priced between RMB 269,900 and RMB 409,900. The Xiangwang E8 PHEV began blind pre-orders on April 24, with four variants announced—Pro, Max, Max with LiDAR, and Ultra—but its pricing also remains undisclosed. In terms of exterior design, the Xiangwang M8 PHEV L adopts GAC’s latest family design language, featuring a large front grille, “7”-shaped headlights, laser-style daytime running lights (DRLs), and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit. Its dimensions measure 5,264 mm in length, 1,898 mm in width, and 1,848 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,070 mm. The Xiangwang E8 PHEV features a relatively smaller front grille with air intakes, combined with full-width DRLs and dual LED headlights. It measures 5,000 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,778 mm tall, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase, and is also equipped with LiDAR. Both models support advanced driver-assistance features including urban navigation pilot assist, lane-keeping assist, and driver fatigue monitoring, powered by the Momenta driving assistance system. Inside, the Xiangwang M8 PHEV L features an enveloping cockpit layout with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a floating 17.3-inch central touchscreen. It runs the ADiGO 6.0 intelligent cabin system powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip and supports four-zone voice control. The Xiangwang E8 PHEV retains the interior styling of the current E8 PHEV, standardizing a 10.25-inch instrument display and a 15.6-inch center screen. Its infotainment system uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip and offers four-zone voice recognition across all trims. Under the hood, both vehicles are powered by a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5T engine (maximum output: 125 kW) with an electric motor, paired with GAC’s Xingyuan PHEV GMC 3.0 transmission. The AWD version of the Xiangwang M8 PHEV L delivers a combined system output of 410 kW, featuring a front motor (205 kW) and a rear motor (80 kW), while the RWD variant produces 330 kW. It is equipped with a 44.5 kWh ternary lithium battery from CATL, offering CLTC-rated pure-electric ranges of 235 km (AWD) and 248 km (RWD). The Xiangwang E8 PHEV features an electric motor with a peak output of 200 kW and a 38.88 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of 281 km.
