The BYD Tang L EV and Tang L DM models have received their fifth OTA update, introducing 19 new features and optimizing 10 existing ones across multiple dimensions, including range management, intelligent driving assistance, cabin entertainment, ecosystem connectivity, and drone collaboration. For the Tang L DM model, a new intelligent range feature has been added. When enabled, it increases the CLTC-rated range by up to 20 km for the two-wheel-drive version and up to 15 km for the all-wheel-drive version. In terms of intelligent driving assistance, the customizable steering wheel buttons can now be set as a quick-access shortcut for parking assistance, enabling one-touch activation of automatic parking. Additionally, a new voice wake-up pathway has been introduced, and users can now long-press steering wheel buttons to report driving-assistance-related events. Six new cabin entertainment features have been added: QQ Music now supports Galaxy Sound Effects and the “AI Listening Companion” feature; KuGou Music adds Viper Sound Effects; dynamic themes now include music wallpapers; Fusion Music introduces data usage alerts, allowing users to set custom data limits and default audio quality; upon first launch, Fusion Music displays a “New Ways to Enjoy Music” tip and supports automatic music playback when the driver fastens their seatbelt; and the video ecosystem now includes the iQIYI app, supporting split-screen mode, home screen widgets, and audio-only playback. On the smart ecosystem front, the in-car Smart IoT App Store now supports payment with loyalty points. New IoT devices added include pet safety seats, Ninebot scooters, in-car air purifiers, vacuum cleaners, lumbar massagers, and dual-zone refrigerators. Vehicle-to-home integration now enables remote control of Hisense and TCL air conditioners. Users can collect Ant Forest green energy via Alipay mini-programs, home screen widgets, or voice commands. Sentry Mode now supports video export, and the Car Life Agent offers restaurant queue alerts and one-tap queuing. For the Tang L DM 175km AWD Drone Edition and Tang L EV AWD LiDAR Flagship models equipped with the LingYuan Intelligent In-Car Drone System, three drone-exclusive features have been added: automatic reminders for the drone to return to its bay when approaching a tunnel; alerts prompting drone return when wind speed exceeds safe limits; and voice-controlled drone operations for connection, vehicle-following, and aerial photography point selection. Additionally, the drone controller now provides low-battery flight restriction alerts and supports customizable button settings to unlock exposure controls.
