On June 3, BYD and Sinopec signed a framework agreement on industrial and capital cooperation, under which the two parties will collaborate on charging network development, ecosystem building for vehicle owners, and upstream and downstream segments of the industrial chain. Li Hui, General Manager of Denza, stated that in the future, gas stations users see may also function as ultra-fast charging stations, making EV charging as convenient as refueling. To date, BYD has built more than 6,100 ultra-fast charging stations and plans to expand this number to 20,000 by the end of 2024. Sinopec currently operates over 30,000 integrated energy stations and more than 14,000 charging and battery-swap stations.
