On June 5, Mercedes-Benz announced the launch of pre-sales for its all-new electric GLC SUV, with a starting pre-sale price of RMB 349,000. The vehicle is scheduled to officially debut in July. Specifically developed for the Chinese market, this long-wheelbase version measures 4,933 mm in length, 1,914 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,027 mm—making it larger than the GLE and earning it the title of “the largest GLC ever.” It represents a significant increase in overall dimensions compared to the current long-wheelbase gasoline-powered GLC. The exterior features a retro-inspired shield-shaped grille, while the interior is equipped with a multi-zone intelligent panoramic sunroof with Star徽 lighting and the MBUX Superscreen, powered by Mercedes-Benz’s proprietary MB.OS operating system. Built on an 800-volt electrical architecture and the MB.EA platform, the vehicle uses CATL-supplied NMC lithium-ion batteries, delivering a CLTC-rated range of up to 680 kilometers and a peak charging power of 320 kW, supporting ultra-fast charging. In terms of performance, the new model adopts a dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout, producing a peak torque of 800 N·m and a top speed of 210 km/h. Its chassis debuts technology derived from the S-Class, including AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle active steering. Customers who place pre-orders during the pre-sale period will enjoy benefits such as deposit amplification, complimentary upgrades to premium seats, and a Burmester 4D surround sound system. Notably, its pre-sale price is over RMB 50,000 lower than that of the updated long-wheelbase gasoline GLC, positioning it directly in China’s domestic new energy SUV market.
