On June 5, Ma Lin, Vice President of NIO, publicly questioned the authenticity of a video comparing the chassis performance of the Li Auto L9 and the NIO ES9. The video, originally posted on Li Auto’s official mini-program, showed that the NIO ES9 in its standard driving mode exhibited body oscillation speeds similar to—or even faster than—those of the Li Auto L9 operating in its "Tianxing Chassis" ultra-soft mode. Ma stated that this result contradicted the ES9’s product specifications and called on Li Auto to clarify details such as the video’s source, testing conditions, and suspension settings. He also invited the public to visit NIO stores for test drives to personally experience the ES9’s chassis damping performance, response over jumps, and noise control. The video has since been removed from Li Auto’s official mini-program, though some online users still retain copies of the footage.
