SaDou Tech will hold a launch event on June 9 to officially unveil its new automotive brand. The brand focuses on the application of AI technology in the automotive sector and targets the young, sporty market segment. Previously known as Landian Technology, a subsidiary of Seres Group, the company completed its renaming and restructuring on May 29. Following a capital increase and share expansion, it secured RMB 6.67 billion in funding, resulting in an adjusted equity structure. ShaCi ZhiYuan, an investment vehicle under the state-owned assets of Shapingba District in Chongqing, has become the largest shareholder with a 34.5% stake. Seres Group, through its subsidiary SaiHu Company, now holds approximately 32.96%, making it the second-largest shareholder. YueXing JiaSheng, an employee stock ownership platform, owns 16.48%, while Wending Investment, a subsidiary of CATL, has also taken a stake. The brand’s debut model is a crossover positioned between an SUV and a sedan, offered in both battery-electric and range-extended variants, with market launch expected within this year. Production will take place at Seres’ Phoenix Factory, which is currently undergoing production line upgrades. For intelligent features, the in-car interactive large language model is powered by Volcano Engine, ByteDance’s cloud computing arm, and runs ByteDance’s Doubao AI system. Notably, SaDou Tech has opted not to adopt Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent driving solution, instead pursuing its own proprietary technological path.
