Over the past three months, prices of automotive-grade memory chips have surged by approximately 180%. As a result, more than ten domestic new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturers have recently raised prices for certain models or reduced terminal discounts, with adjustments typically ranging from RMB 2,000 to RMB 6,000. While some automakers have kept their official manufacturer-suggested retail prices unchanged, they have increased the prices of optional packages—for example, one advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) package rose from RMB 9,900 to RMB 12,000 starting in May. Meanwhile, the internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle market has continued to intensify promotional efforts; as of April this year, the average discount level has remained high at around 23% for nine consecutive months.
