The 2026 (30th) Greater Bay Area Auto Show concluded at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an). The event spanned 11 indoor halls and an outdoor exhibition area, covering a total area of 300,000 square meters, showcasing a diversified industrial matrix encompassing complete vehicles, supply chains, and cutting-edge technologies. Over its duration, the show attracted 810,000 visitors, recorded pre-orders for 39,253 vehicles, and generated approximately RMB 8.25 billion in sales. Themed “Embracing Technology, Embracing the Future, Embracing the Market,” this year’s auto show coincided with the 4th Future Mobility Pioneers Conference, which explored topics such as the reconfiguration of technological order in the intelligent era, cross-domain collaboration, and long-term brand value. Parallel forums included the π-Mobility Innovation Summit, Future Vision Summit, Intelligent Connected Vehicle Commercialization Forum, and Semi-Solid-State Battery Value Forum. New industry matchmaking activities were introduced, including sessions on overseas expansion and cross-border cooperation for OEMs, procurement matchmaking, and technical collaboration in intelligent connected new energy vehicles, attracting buyer delegations from 16 countries. At the opening ceremony, the *Shenzhen White Paper on the Development of Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Industry (2025)* was released. It systematically outlined Shenzhen’s integrated policy framework—comprising special economic zone legislation, normative documents, and local standards—and proposed strategic directions such as breakthroughs in hard-core technologies, AI empowerment, and global expansion of brands and standards. To date, Shenzhen has gathered over 2,000 enterprises across the industrial chain, accelerating the formation of a trillion-yuan-scale industrial cluster. Multiple automakers unveiled new models or held world premieres during the show: - The Zunjie S800 Grand Design made its global debut; - SAIC Audi E7X, SAIC Volkswagen ID.ERA 9X, Volvo ES90, and EX90 launched together; - Leapmotor D99 interior debuted globally; - Dongfeng Yipai M8 held its technology launch event; - NIO sub-brand ONVO L60 made its global premiere; - Firefly unveiled its first convertible concept tuner car; - Cadillac F1 was showcased. Concept vehicles such as the smart #2 prototype, Geely Robotaxi Eva Cab prototype, and Dongfeng EQ-REBORN were also displayed. BYD Group occupied Hall 1 entirely, presenting its five major brands—Dynasty, Ocean, Fangchengbao, Denza, and Yangwang—and featured dynamic experience zones including “Eyes of God” ADAS demonstrations, flash charging technology, chip exhibits, and advanced outdoor scenario displays such as Denza’s Yi-San-Fang technology experience, Fangchengbao’s off-road performance showcase, Yangwang U8 emergency buoyancy demonstration, and Denza’s autonomous drifting. BYD Commercial Vehicles participated for the first time with a full portfolio across all categories. Hall 2 hosted the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Pavilion, gathering five product lines: WENJIE, ZHIGE, XIANGJIE, ZUNJIE, and SHANGJIE. Hall 4 featured Huawei’s Qiankun Pavilion, showcasing its full-stack capabilities in intelligent driving systems, digital chassis engines, and vehicle-cloud services. The show featured four specialized thematic pavilions: - The “Legendary Supercar Pavilion” exhibited nearly 100 top-tier hypercars from Pagani, Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and others; - The “Liu·Shiguang Classic Car Museum,” co-presented with Zhongtian Antique Car Museum, displayed nearly 100 classic models through both static exhibitions and dynamic parades; - The “Off-Road & Outdoor Mobility Ecosystem Pavilion” integrated cycling, motorcycles, off-road vehicles, and RV camping scenarios, featuring BMX freestyle competitions and extreme sports performances; - The “Thrill Ride – Automotive Stunt Performance Pavilion” debuted an indoor extreme track, headlined by champion driver Robby Gordon, offering motorcycle drifting, monster truck stunts, SST race car aerial jumps, and ATV/UTV ride-along experiences. Throughout the event, numerous OEM–supplier matchmaking sessions took place, with over 20 domestic and international OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers engaging in product showcases and one-on-one meetings with more than 120 core Shenzhen-based supply chain enterprises. This year’s auto show reflected structural shifts in the automotive industry: electrification has solidified its foundation, intelligence continues to deepen, and connectivity is rapidly converging—ushering in an era of deep integration among the three pillars. Industry consensus is shifting from scale-driven competition toward system-level and capability-based competition, emphasizing high-level technological self-reliance, a return to intrinsic value, and long-termism. The next Greater Bay Area Auto Show is scheduled for June 5–13, 2027, at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an).
