On June 10, Richard Yu, Chairman of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group (BG), announced that Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) will launch its first model departing from the numerical naming sequence—the Luxeed RX—scheduled for an official debut this autumn. On the same day, Guo Rui, Chairman and CEO of Luxeed Automotive, explained the naming rationale, stating that “X” symbolizes the unknown, breakthroughs, and defiance of definition. He emphasized that only products capable of redefining industry standards deserve the “X” designation. Guo stressed that the Luxeed RX isn’t aimed at being merely a “good car” in the conventional sense but rather seeks to deliver high-value innovation by fundamentally redefining existing benchmarks. One key reason for naming it RX, he noted, is its deep, native integration with Huawei’s full-stack technologies across the entire vehicle architecture. While specific technical details remain undisclosed, based on current HIMA configurations, the Luxeed RX is expected to feature Huawei’s Qiankun ADS intelligent driving system, a HarmonyOS cockpit exclusive to HIMA, and Qiankun’s 896-line dual-path imaging-grade LiDAR. According to an official teaser video, the Luxeed RX adopts a coupe-inspired design, featuring a roof-mounted LiDAR module, illuminated Luxeed branding, a fastback silhouette, and full-width taillights, with “LUXEED” prominently displayed on the lower rear section.
