Recently, the Weibo account of Yu Hao, founder and CEO of Dreame Technology, displayed a notice stating, "This user is currently muted for violating relevant laws and regulations." According to an official announcement from Weibo Community Observer, Yu Hao’s account was reported by a company for posting content that questioned and disparaged other enterprises through public “calls-out” and similar formats. This violated requirements set forth in the Cyberspace Administration of China’s special campaign titled “Clear and Bright: Optimizing the Online Business Environment and Rectifying Malicious Hype Around Enterprise-Related Information.” As a result, his account has been ordered to be muted across multiple platforms. To date, Dreame Technology has not issued any public statement regarding this incident. Born in 1987 in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, Yu Hao graduated from Tsinghua University’s School of Aerospace Engineering. In 2007, he participated in developing China’s first batch of quadcopter drones. Starting in 2015, he led a team to develop high-speed digital motors for vacuum cleaners and founded Dreame Technology in 2017. That same year, his team independently developed a high-speed digital motor capable of 100,000 rpm, breaking foreign monopolies in the field. In 2025, Dreame Technology officially announced its entry into the automotive industry. Since then, Yu Hao has frequently posted controversial marketing-related remarks on social media platforms. Currently, Dreame’s automotive team comprises approximately 1,200 employees and adopts a “light-asset” collaborative vehicle manufacturing model similar to Huawei’s approach. In mid-May this year, Yu Hao stated that Dreame’s automotive project would likely require another year and a half to reach mass production, emphasizing that its goal is not to compete with domestic EV startups but rather to target global markets. To date, Dreame has unveiled three vehicle models: the Nebula NEXT 01, Nebula NEXT 01X, and Nebula NEXT 01 Jet Edition. Due to limitations on domestic vehicle production licenses and manufacturing capacity, Dreame is actively seeking overseas contract manufacturing partners, with Australia potentially becoming its first international market for vehicle rollout.
