Singapore has recently officially launched the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging and battery-swapping standard, "Singapore Standard SS 722." NIO played a significant role in the research and development of this standard and served as the lead organization driving the update of battery-swapping technology specifications, contributing substantially across multiple areas. The release of this standard marks new progress in the international standardization of battery-swapping models. Additionally, NIO has been deeply involved in formulating several national standards, including "General Technical Requirements for EV Battery Swap Stations," "Connectors for Swappable Battery Packs for Electric Vehicles," and "Quick-Swap Battery Pack Frames for Electric Vehicles." NIO also led the development of the national standard "Communication Protocol for Quick-Swap Battery Packs for Electric Vehicles." In April this year, Li Bin, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of NIO, publicly called for standardized battery cells and unified chip specifications, aiming to unlock cost-saving opportunities exceeding RMB 100 billion for the industry.
