On June 10, 2024, Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EV Long Range officially launched, offering two variants: the 605km Long Range and the 605km Long Range+ versions. Customers can also opt for a 525km range variant, which reduces the price by RMB 10,000. The limited-time post-incentive guidance prices range from RMB 99,800 to RMB 119,800. All variants come standard with Geely’s "Shield Golden Brick" battery and deliver a CLTC-rated range of 605 km, though buyers may choose the 525 km version based on their needs. Powering the vehicle is Geely’s Thunder 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive system, producing a maximum output of 160 kW, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, with an energy consumption of 12.4 kWh per 100 km. Charging from 30% to 80% SOC takes approximately 20 minutes. The Shield Golden Brick battery features short-blade cell design and has passed 36 rigorous safety tests, including simultaneous penetration by eight needles, 24-hour submersion, 2-meter drop impact, and exposure to 1,000°C flame. The vehicle is equipped with a BMS battery management system enabling high-voltage cutoff within 39 ms, along with CTB (Cell-to-Body) integrated battery-chassis technology and an “8-transverse, 2-longitudinal” body structure, achieving a torsional rigidity of 31,000 N·m/deg. Measuring 4,750 mm long, 1,905 mm wide, and 1,680 mm tall, with a 2,755 mm wheelbase, the Starship 7 EV features a completely flat rear floor. Its trunk offers 528 liters of standard cargo space, expandable up to 2,065 liters. Interior highlights include Marshmallow SPA seats (with 10-layer construction, 14-point massage, and 8 therapeutic modes), dual-layer acoustic glass for front windows, privacy glass for rear windows, and a CN95-grade air filtration system. In terms of smart features, the vehicle runs Flyme Auto cockpit system, featuring a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, a 13.8-inch W-HUD, and a 16-speaker Flyme Sound audio system. It supports multi-ecosystem connectivity via Flyme Link, Carlink, and HiCar, and is compatible with all Android smartphones. The Starship 7 EV is the all-electric variant of the Starship 7 family, complementing the Starship 7 EM-i—which has sold over 220,000 units—to form a dual-power strategy encompassing both plug-in hybrid and pure electric options. Its target customers are urban commuters who prioritize low operating costs and a premium pure-electric driving experience. Key competitors include the BYD Yuan PLUS, GAC Aion Y Plus, and Deepal S05. Compared to rivals whose entry-level trims typically offer 430–510 km of range, the Starship 7 EV starts at a higher 605 km across all variants. Additionally, it standardizes the Shield Golden Brick battery across the lineup, positioning battery safety as a core selling point. Launch purchase incentives include a RMB 6,000 trade-in subsidy, RMB 4,000 insurance subsidy, and a 0% interest financing plan for RMB 80,000 over 24 months. With its combination of long range, high safety standards, and competitive pricing, the Starship 7 EV aims to capture incremental customers in the RMB 100,000–150,000 A-segment pure-electric SUV market.
