Porsche CEO Michael Lietz stated at an event hosted by the magazine *Auto, Motor und Sport* that the company will not launch a fully electric version of its 911 sports car. Currently, the entire 911 lineup is powered by internal combustion engines, with hybrid options available on certain variants. Porsche has offered the all-electric Taycan sports car since 2019 and also sells two all-electric SUV models. Lietz emphasized that Porsche will continue advancing electrification in areas where it is "meaningful and demanded by customers," but as an iconic model, the 911’s technological evolution will rely on combustion and hybrid powertrains. The company previously overestimated market demand for electric vehicles and has now adjusted its strategy to some extent, refocusing on internal combustion engine models.
