Infineon Technologies AG has introduced two new enhanced isolated gate driver ICs—the EiceDRIVER™ 1EDI3040AS and 1EDI3041AS—specifically designed for traction inverters in battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The new devices support both IGBTs and silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs, delivering higher usable performance at the same power rating compared to commonly available solutions on the market. By integrating multiple functions into a single IC, these new drivers help reduce the number of external components and lower the bill-of-materials cost for inverter control electronics.
