From June 1 to 10, 2024, Study Group 17 (SG17) of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) held its plenary meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. During the meeting, a proposal for an international standard titled “X.vrcmp-sec: Security requirements for vehicle-road coordination management platform” was reviewed and approved. This proposal was submitted under the guidance of the China Society of Automotive Engineers (CSAE), led by China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CAERI), and jointly developed with the National Innovation Center for Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (ICV Innovation Center), Tsinghua University, and China Mobile. The standard has now been officially approved for development. Based on the research findings and industry practices outlined in T/CSAE 295.7-2026 “Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integrated System – Part 7: Information Security Specifications,” the standard analyzes security threats facing vehicle-road coordination management platforms and proposes corresponding security requirements. As a critical component of the vehicle-road-cloud integrated technical architecture, the cloud-control infrastructure platform serves as both the central hub for data exchange and the foundational infrastructure for application services, making its information security management increasingly vital. The development of this standard will provide guidance for securing cloud-control infrastructure platforms and serve as a reference for information security management across other intelligent transportation platforms in the intelligent and connected vehicle (ICV) domain. Moving forward, CAERI will continue advancing the research and application of this standard and will collaborate extensively with industry stakeholders to promote the adoption of Chinese intelligent new energy vehicle technologies as international standards, thereby enhancing the global influence and voice of China’s automotive industry.
