BYD has delivered its 100,000th new energy vehicle (NEV) in the UK market, achieving this milestone in just about three years and becoming the fastest foreign brand in the country’s history to reach a 5% market share. In the first four months of this year, BYD sold over 26,000 NEVs in the UK, further increasing its market share to 7.2%. Its monthly sales ranked first in the UK’s electric vehicle market, surpassing brands such as BMW and Tesla. While expanding its sales network, BYD is accelerating the rollout of local charging infrastructure. Its first Super Charging Station, located in Uxbridge on the western outskirts of London, is now operational and equipped with flash-charging technology reportedly capable of significantly reducing charging times. According to its plans, BYD aims to build 300 Super Charging Stations across the UK by the end of 2024, covering major cities and key transport corridors to establish an initial charging network. The first station is already in use, and subsequent construction will proceed as scheduled.
