Rolls-Royce recently unveiled the new Spectre Series II and implemented an official price reduction. In the U.S. market, the starting price has been lowered by $22,000 from $420,000 to $398,000; in the UK, it dropped from £365,000 to £333,000—a decrease of 8.7%; and in Germany, the price fell by €44,000 from €439,000 to €395,000, representing a reduction of over 10%. As a fully electric vehicle, the Spectre benefits from China’s exemption from the 40% luxury consumption tax on high-displacement vehicles, giving it greater room for price cuts. The initial China-spec model had a starting price of RMB 5.75 million, while the Series II’s official starting price range is now set between RMB 5.15 million and RMB 5.45 million—representing a nominal price reduction of RMB 300,000 to RMB 600,000. Additionally, previously optional features valued at RMB 600,000 to RMB 1 million—such as two-tone paint finishes and bespoke embroidery—are now standard across all trims. Factoring in both direct price reductions and the inclusion of formerly optional equipment, the total effective discount amounts to RMB 1 million to RMB 1.5 million. Thanks to the tax exemption policy, the Spectre now delivers higher per-unit profit margins than both the Ghost and Cullinan, making it Rolls-Royce’s most profitable model.
