British sports car manufacturer Morgan has recently unveiled the Midsummer Coupé—the brand’s first hardtop model in over a decade—with global production strictly limited to nine units. Based on the Midsummer roadster, this new coupé marks Morgan’s first fixed-roof model since the discontinuation of the Aero 8 in 2015 and officially concludes the Midsummer bespoke program designed by Pininfarina. Each Midsummer Coupé is individually customized by Morgan’s in-house bespoke division, ensuring all nine cars are unique. The vehicle retains the Plus Six platform and is powered by a BMW-sourced inline-six engine producing 250 kW (335 hp). According to Morgan, the fixed roof dramatically alters the car’s proportions, fundamentally transforming its character. The roof consists almost entirely of a single-piece glass canopy, complemented by a central trim strip that flows from the roof to the rear of the car. Morgan states this design not only enhances visual distinctiveness but also elevates interior refinement, practicality, and year-round usability. To accommodate the hardtop structure, the body has been significantly reinforced, including A-pillars machined from solid aluminum blocks to ensure structural rigidity.
