BYD has launched a new in-car accessory called the BYD Smart Button, priced at RMB 259 at its initial release and now available for purchase on the company's official app store. The product debuted alongside the BYD Tang model and is currently compatible only with the Tang, though support for additional models will be rolled out gradually. The Smart Button can be mounted anywhere inside the vehicle using either magnetic attachment or 3M adhesive tape. It supports three types of operations—single-click, double-click, and rotation—with a control latency of no more than 30 milliseconds. Users can customize over 40 shortcut functions, such as one-touch adjustment of air conditioning and seats. Additionally, the device enables quick pairing between the user’s smartphone and the car’s infotainment system via NFC tap-to-connect functionality. Powered by a replaceable coin cell battery, it offers a rated battery life of up to one year.
