Tesla plans to increase weekly production at its Berlin-Brandenburg Gigafactory in Germany by 20% starting October 2024, reaching 7,500 vehicles per week. To support this capacity expansion, the company will hire an additional 1,000 employees at the facility. The Berlin-Brandenburg Gigafactory is Tesla’s first manufacturing site in Europe and has already produced hundreds of thousands of Model Y vehicles and millions of battery cells. In April, Tesla announced plans to boost output at the factory to meet rising demand for the Model Y; in May, the company further revealed increased investment in battery production at the site. According to Tesla, the three-phase expansion—including this latest round—will create a total of 3,500 new jobs across vehicle and battery manufacturing.
