On June 26, Ferrari unveiled its first all-electric model, the LUCE, for the first time in Asia and announced a starting suggested retail price of RMB 3.988 million in the Chinese market. The vehicle was launched in Europe at the end of May with a local price of €550,000 (approximately RMB 4.35 million), about RMB 360,000 higher than the Chinese version. Designed by the LoveFrom studio, the LUCE features clean, flowing lines and an innovative suicide door configuration. With a length exceeding five meters, it is Ferrari’s first-ever five-seater production car. The interior blends retro and minimalist aesthetics, equipped with a hybrid digital-analog instrument cluster and a square-shaped multimedia screen. Based on an optimized and upgraded Purosangue platform, the LUCE incorporates active dampers featuring a 20% increase in ball-screw lead pitch, reducing the entire system’s weight by 2 kg. Integrated thermocouples monitor oil temperature to ensure responsive stability during cold starts. As Ferrari’s first all-electric road-going sports car, the LUCE employs a four-motor independent drive system: the front-axle motors reach a maximum speed of 30,000 rpm, while the rear-axle motors peak at 25,500 rpm. The combined output delivers 772 kW (1,050 hp) and a peak wheel torque of 11,500 N·m. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in only 6.8 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 310 km/h. The vehicle is powered by a 122 kWh battery pack, offering a maximum WLTC-rated range of 530 km. It supports a peak discharge power of 830 kW and 350 kW DC fast charging—capable of adding 70 kWh of energy in just 20 minutes—while keeping the total vehicle weight under 2.2 metric tons.
