On June 26, GAC Group and Huawei Qiankun jointly unveiled “Qijing,” their premium intelligent new energy vehicle brand, debuting its first model, the GT7, and simultaneously unveiling its second strategic model, the GX7, for global premiere. Positioned as a next-generation intelligent “spacious” five-seater SUV, the GX7 embodies the concept of “Grand Exploration.” In terms of exterior design, the GX7 continues Qijing’s family design language, featuring a closed front fascia, blade-shaped headlights, and dual horizontal daytime running lights. A prominent LiDAR unit sits atop the windshield, flanked by air intakes on both sides. The side profile showcases smooth lines, semi-recessed door handles, and potentially electric running boards. At the rear, it adopts a full-width taillight, hidden wiper, and a diffuser. Built on a short overhang and long-wheelbase layout, the vehicle boasts a wheelbase of 3,070 mm and a wheelbase-to-length ratio of 60%. The roof features a two-section design: the front section remains flat to maximize rear headroom, while the rear tapers gently to maintain a dynamic, forward-leaning stance. The interior’s standout feature is an industry-first “one-touch automatic bed conversion” function that transforms the seats into a flat sleeping surface in just 20 seconds—entirely hands-free. This is achieved through mechanisms including rearward seat cushion lift, extension of an oversized integrated leg rest, folding of dual-section headrests, and automatic separation of adaptive side bolsters. Integrated into both sides of the headrests are storage compartments and charging ports. The cabin is expected to be powered by Huawei’s next-generation HarmonyOS intelligent cockpit system. For intelligent driving, the GX7 is anticipated to feature Huawei Qiankun’s full-stack solution, including dual-path, image-grade 896-line LiDAR and the Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving system. Built on an 800V high-voltage pure-electric platform, the vehicle will be offered in both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and triple-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. The chassis is expected to come standard across all trims with a closed-loop dual-chamber air suspension and continuously adjustable dampers. The Qijing GX7 is scheduled to officially launch in autumn 2026, with additional product details to be revealed progressively.
