On July 1, Haos Power and Hofer Technology Group signed a cooperation agreement in Ningbo to jointly develop an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) tailored for mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive high-performance sports cars. The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from both sides, including Zhao Fucheng, CTO of Haos Power and CEO of Aurora Bay Technologies, and Johann Paul HOFER, Chairman of Hofer Technology Group. Under the agreement, Haos Power will lead the project’s development, while Hofer will provide technical support. Hofer has long specialized in transmission and powertrain system R&D, boasting mature transmission technology expertise and a track record of supplying components to high-performance sports car brands such as McLaren. The two parties plan to iteratively upgrade McLaren’s existing production sports car transmission platform to co-develop an 8-speed transmission with world-leading performance. Haos Power is a comprehensive powertrain solutions provider covering efficient internal combustion engines, transmissions, and hybrid systems. Its products span mainstream passenger vehicle segments—from entry-level to premium—and meet the needs of over 80% of the global passenger car market. This move into high-performance sports car transmissions aims to further strengthen Haos Power’s full-scenario presence in the passenger vehicle powertrain sector.
