On July 2, BYD officially launched the Seagull 08, offering six variants with an official price range of RMB 196,900 to RMB 239,900. The launch is accompanied by exclusive ownership benefits, including premium financing offers, limited-time customization packages, and fast-charging privileges. In terms of design, the Seagull 08 adopts BYD’s Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design language, featuring a closed-off front grille, wave-inspired headlight clusters, and “Ice Eye” daytime running lights. Multiple character lines on the hood enhance its muscular appearance. The side profile showcases a fastback roofline and a continuous waistline, complemented by semi-flush door handles, multi-spoke alloy wheels, and gloss-black window trim. At the rear, a full-width taillight integrates the BYD logo, accented by a subtle ducktail spoiler. Inside, the cabin follows the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 flagship layout, equipped with a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a floating 15.6-inch center touchscreen, a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and a 26-inch AR-HUD. Convenience features include wireless smartphone charging and an onboard refrigerator supporting four modes—rapid cooling, chilling, fresh-keeping, and hot beverage heating—as well as two customizable temperature settings. The fridge can cool down to -6°C and heat up to 50°C, accommodating six 550ml bottles. For intelligent features, the vehicle is powered by BYD’s next-generation AI assistant “DiDi Xia” and the updated DiLink smart cockpit interface, offering enhanced voice interaction, scenario-based services, and ecosystem connectivity. The Seagull 08 is available in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants. The BEV version is built on an 800V high-voltage platform and uses BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery. The all-wheel-drive model delivers a peak output of 510 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, with a CLTC-rated range of up to 905 km. The PHEV variant combines a 1.5T engine with dual electric motors for a combined system output of 400 kW, paired with a 45.36 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of 400 km and a total combined range of 1,000 km.
