M-Hero Auto plans to launch a new model in the fourth quarter of this year. The vehicle features a unibody construction (without a ladder frame), measures approximately 4.9 meters in length, and offers slightly lower motor output compared to existing models, positioning itself around the "light off-roading" concept. Priced between RMB 200,000 and RMB 250,000, the top-trim variant may be equipped with a 2.0T range-extended system but will remain under RMB 270,000. This new model is primarily aimed at competing with BYD’s Fangchengbao Bao 7. Currently, M-Hero’s lineup includes the luxury electric off-roader M-Hero 917, available in both range-extended and all-electric versions with a starting price of RMB 637,700, and the newly launched M-Hero M817, which debuted on June 27 with a starting price of RMB 299,900. According to M-Hero CEO Wan Liangyu, the brand will establish three distinct product lines moving forward: the flagship 917 series, the M series—including models like the M817—and the upcoming X series. Internal sources indicate that based on user habit research, the new model will focus on light off-road usage around urban areas, catering to younger customers’ preferences for adventure-oriented scenarios.
