Global electric vehicle (EV) demand rose for the fourth consecutive month in June, with combined registrations of battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles increasing by 7% year-over-year to reach 2 million units. Cumulative registrations for the first half of the year were up 2% compared to the same period last year. Europe emerged as the primary driver of global EV growth, with registrations surging 31% year-over-year to approximately 530,000 units—the highest ever recorded for the month of June. In contrast, the North American market saw registrations decline by 13% year-over-year, largely due to the expiration of U.S. EV tax incentives.
