In the first half of 2026, the overall reputation index for SUVs stood at 39,826.25, down approximately 14.6% year-over-year. Among the top ten models ranked by reputation index, the LeDao L90 topped the list with a score of 2,749.5. Except for the BYD Song PLUS DM-i, whose reputation index plummeted by 84.85% year-over-year, the other eight models all saw increases in their reputation indices compared to the same period last year. Specifically, the LeDao L90 faced backlash from existing owners due to configuration upgrades introduced with its new iteration. Although a compensation plan was rolled out, some owners continue to protest. The Wildlander (Weilanda) saw a significant rise in its reputation index but suffers from issues such as malfunctioning card keys and uneven tire wear caused by suspension problems; the manufacturer has yet to offer an effective solution. The Model Y’s reputation index surged more than fourfold year-over-year, though owners report persistent problems including abnormal noises from shock absorbers, cracked tires, and chassis rattles, with Tesla’s after-sales service often shifting blame rather than addressing concerns. The Honda Breeze (Haoying) recorded a higher reputation index, yet longstanding issues like broken sunshade clips and steering hesitation noises persist, putting pressure on GAC Honda regarding quality control and after-sales support. The Audi Q3 posted a notable increase in its reputation index, but frequent failures of the transmission control module and tire cracking remain prominent issues, with both the manufacturer and dealerships passing responsibility back and forth. Changan UNI-T owners widely complain about unresponsive touchscreen displays and an inability to upgrade the infotainment system, with no substantive fixes provided by the company. The Honda CR-V continues to face recurring complaints about steering noises, headlight cracks, and uneven tire wear due to suspension issues, yet Dongfeng Honda has failed to implement effective countermeasures. The Mercedes-Benz GLC has encountered issues involving loose screws in the engine camshaft center valve, and its internal service campaign has not covered all affected owners. The BYD Song PLUS DM-i was the only model among the top ten to see a decline in its reputation index, primarily due to reduced motor output after an update and the unavailability of the “Thousand-Mile Eye” feature. The BYD Tang L recorded the largest year-over-year increase in reputation index, but unresolved concerns—including inconsistent three-electric-component warranty policies, discrepancies in access to megawatt flash charging benefits, and non-decoupled all-wheel drive—have yet to receive clear responses from BYD.
