BYD Files New All-Electric "Xiao Tang" SUV: 5,045mm Long, 2,950mm Wheelbase, Offered in 5- and 7-Seater Versions

According to the public notice of the 409th batch of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products" issued by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), BYD has filed a new all-electric variant of its Tang model, commonly referred to by consumers as the "Xiao Tang" (Little Tang) to distinguish it from the current larger "Da Tang" (Big Tang). The vehicle measures 5,045 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,740/1,760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. Both front and rear tracks are 1,700 mm. Its approach and departure angles are 18° and 21°, respectively, with front and rear overhangs of 985 mm and 1,110 mm. The top speed is rated at 250 km/h. It features a unibody construction and comes standard with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and an Event Data Recorder (EDR). An ETC onboard unit is available as an optional feature.
