According to the public notice of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for the 409th batch of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products," BYD has filed two new all-electric Seagull models. Both are five-seat battery electric sedans with identical dimensions of 4,205 mm (length) × 1,810 mm (width) × 1,570 mm (height), a wheelbase of 2,650 mm, a top speed of 150 km/h, and tire size 205/60R16. Both models come standard with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and an Event Data Recorder (EDR), and offer optional onboard ETC equipment. In terms of powertrain, both variants are equipped with permanent magnet synchronous motors produced by Zhengzhou BYD Auto Co., Ltd., delivering a peak power output of 95 kW and a rated power of 40 kW. The vehicles use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The first model has a curb weight of 1,180 kg and a gross vehicle weight of 1,555 kg. Its energy storage system is manufactured by Shaoxing FinDreams Battery Co., Ltd. Optional features include fender trim, side skirt accents, wheel rims, unpainted D-pillar trim, badging, and a high-mounted brake light with an integrated camera. The second model weighs 1,255 kg curb and has a gross vehicle weight of 1,630 kg. Its battery cells are produced by Hefei BYD Industrial Co., Ltd., while the battery pack assembly is handled by Zhengzhou FinDreams Battery Co., Ltd. In addition to all optional features available on the first variant, this model also offers optional front radar, rear radar, side radars, exterior mirrors, mirror bases, and a LiDAR sensor.
