The U.S. Department of Justice has launched a federal grand jury investigation into allegations that United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain pressured another union official to secure benefits for his fiancée and her sister. As part of the investigation, the grand jury has issued a subpoena to the court-appointed union monitor. Fain issued a statement denying the allegations, calling them entirely fabricated, and accused UAW Vice President Rich Boyer of attempting to interfere in the upcoming UAW election.
