On July 13, Korean autonomous driving company AutonomousA2G made its debut at the “NCS AI Impact 2026” event held at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, unveiling its Level 4 autonomous shuttle ROii for the first time and demonstrating remote-controlled driving technology linking Korea and Singapore. The event was organized by NCS, an AI services company under Singaporean telecommunications operator Singtel. AutonomousA2G and NCS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in March 2024 to advance the commercialization of autonomous driving technology in Singapore’s public sector. The showcased ROii is defined as a physics-based AI mobility solution, integrating a driverless-seat design, an autonomous driving system, and a supporting operational platform. The two parties plan to initially deploy this autonomous shuttle service for NCS employees. The event also featured a live demonstration of Level 4 remote driving: an operator stationed in a remote driving cockpit at the Singapore venue controlled a modified Hyundai Sonata DN8 located at K-City, an autonomous vehicle testing facility in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The vehicle responded to commands in real time, completing the drive without any intervention from the safety driver onboard. AutonomousA2G has been steadily expanding its presence in Singapore through participation in the COSMO smart city project, establishing a local joint venture named A2G, and becoming the first Korean company to obtain Singapore’s M1 autonomous driving license. The company stated that it will leverage this showcase as an opportunity to deepen collaboration with NCS and accelerate the commercial rollout and mass production capabilities of ROii.
