On July 17, a netizen posted a video showing an unexpected encounter with Lei Jun outside Xiaomi Auto’s factory. In the footage, Lei personally boarded Xiaomi’s new model, the Pengcheng N90, offering the first unofficial glimpse of its interior. The video reveals that the rear doors open to nearly a 90-degree angle, providing exceptional longitudinal cabin space and ample headroom without any noticeable sense of confinement for occupants. The rear doors also feature electric opening and closing, requiring no manual operation throughout the process. According to filings submitted to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Pengcheng N90 measures 5,285 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,825 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,080 mm. Positioned as a full-size range-extended SUV, it is built on Xiaomi’s self-developed Kunlun architecture and will be offered in both five-seat and seven-seat configurations. The wheelbase—exceeding three meters—combined with a flat-floor design ensures class-leading legroom and headroom in the second row. Previous official disclosures indicated that the front seats can rotate 180 degrees, while the second row comes standard with zero-gravity comfort seats. The cabin features an extra-long rail system running from front to rear, enabling multiple seating layout configurations. The seven-seat variant also includes a factory-installed electric pop-up roof tent, which, when raised, creates a spacious upper-level area tailored for camping scenarios. Powering the N90 is a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender, paired with a 76 kWh battery pack across all trims, delivering a CLTC-rated pure-electric range of 505 km. Based on Xiaomi’s current promotional pace, the vehicle is expected to make its official debut and launch within the next month.
