Zoox announced on Friday that it has rolled out a software update to its fleet of 105 autonomous vehicles to address an incident in June, when one of its self-driving taxis struggled to navigate through heavy smoke at a fire scene. The update enhances the vehicles' detection capabilities in emergency scenarios and introduces new functionality to recognize and respond to dense smoke under specific conditions.
