On July 20, Firefly—the premium intelligent EV brand under NIO—launched its first model in the halo LightSeeker series, named "Habitat." The vehicle is offered in a single configuration, priced at RMB 133,300 for full purchase, or RMB 93,300 with NIO’s BaaS (Battery as a Service) subscription plan. The design of Habitat draws inspiration from the soft blue-green glow emitted by fireflies deep in the forest, emphasizing a unique rhythm rather than ostentatious brilliance. Building upon Firefly’s original design language, the halo LightSeeker series establishes an annual design expression system through color, materials, and craftsmanship. Each year, it will revolve around the theme of “Annual Light,” extracting inspiration from users, cities, nature, and societal evolution to translate into tangible vehicle designs. Exterior-wise, Habitat continues Firefly’s biomimetic design philosophy. The front fascia features “Trio Headlights” composed of three circular halos, while the lower section houses a 92-liter tiered front trunk with drainage functionality. The halo LightSeeker series debuts its exclusive Serene Green paint finish. The A- and B-pillars are blacked-out, and the C-pillar seamlessly blends into the roof to create a floating visual effect. At the rear, the design echoes the front with matching trio light clusters and includes a roof-mounted spoiler. The vehicle comes standard with 215/50 R18 tires and newly designed alloy wheels. Measuring 4,003 mm (L) × 1,781 mm (W) × 1,557 mm (H), with a wheelbase of 2,615 mm, Habitat is positioned as a compact all-electric sedan. In terms of intelligent driving assistance, Habitat comes standard with 15 active safety features, 11 driver-assist functions, and 7 parking assist capabilities. It is equipped with NIO’s Highway & Urban Expressway Pilot system, which achieves 99.99% coverage on expressways and supports autonomous on/off-ramp navigation, lane changes, and turn-signal-initiated lane switching. Its parking suite includes full-scenario intelligent parking and urban effortless parking, claiming “see it, park it” capability. The interior retains the existing model’s overall style while introducing differentiated details. Rounded corners dominate the cabin design, complemented by a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a 13.2-inch floating central touchscreen, and a 6-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The cabin features an unobstructed,贯通-style center console channel between driver and front passenger seats, enhancing ease of entry and exit in tight spaces. The vehicle offers 27 storage compartments throughout, including an integrated armrest cup holder, storage bin, and drawer in the center console, magnetic anchor points for accessory expansion in both front and rear seats, and a hidden storage compartment exceeding 29 liters beneath the rear right seat. Fluorescent yellow accents appear throughout the interior. Powering the vehicle is a rear-mounted single motor delivering a maximum output of 163 hp and peak torque of 205 N·m. It is paired with a 42.1 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range of 420 km. The suspension setup consists of a front MacPherson independent suspension and a rear five-link independent suspension.
