The 2026 World Conference on Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (ICV) will be held in mid-October 2026 in Beijing, co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Ministry of Transport (MOT), and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government. Under the theme “Pooling Wisdom and Energy for Boundless Connectivity—Steadily Advancing into a New Era of Autonomous Driving,” the conference will feature three plenary sessions focusing on critical industry milestones and major topics, unveiling the latest achievements in intelligent and connected vehicles and comprehensively showcasing practical outcomes and future roadmaps for the autonomous driving era. The conference aims to build global consensus on industrial development, systematically analyze trends in autonomous driving technology evolution, industry development directions, and governance frameworks, and generate high-level intellectual insights and policy agreements. It also seeks to deepen international exchanges and cooperation, facilitating tangible progress among nations in policy coordination and mutual recognition of standards, while promoting the demonstration and commercialization of technological innovations to accelerate replicable and scalable models of industrial collaboration and real-world application scenarios. Additionally, MIIT is expediting the formulation and release of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) for the Development of Intelligent and Connected New Energy Vehicles, pushing forward breakthroughs in core technologies, accelerating the development, international harmonization, and implementation of key standards, and advancing pilot programs for “vehicle-road-cloud integration” as well as production access and on-road testing. These efforts aim to foster an ecosystem encompassing the entire industrial chain. Since its inception in 2018, the World Conference on Intelligent and Connected Vehicles has been held consecutively for eight editions, establishing itself as a pivotal global platform for leading automotive technological innovation, deepening international collaboration, and forging shared understanding.
