Denza Z9S Unveils Dawn Purple Exterior and Misty Purple Interior, Teasing Range of "Dopamine Colors"

DENZA, a premium EV brand under BYD, has officially unveiled the "Morning Glow Purple" exterior and "Cloud Mist Purple" interior color schemes for its upcoming DENZA Z9S, teasing a series of vibrant "dopamine-inspired" paint options. Exterior highlights include a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, an intelligent driving indicator light (nicknamed the “Little Blue Light”), semi-flush door handles, and an active rear spoiler that can be raised or lowered. The rear may also feature an illuminated logo. Inside, the cabin adopts a two-tone purple-and-white design, featuring a floating central touchscreen, extensive piano-black trim panels, and potentially Alcantara-wrapped headliners. A limited number of physical buttons are retained for convenience, while the seats follow an enveloping layout. Positioned as a tech-laden luxury smart sedan, the Z9S will be offered in two powertrain variants, both with a wheelbase of 3,025 mm and seating for five passengers. Both models measure 5,090 mm in length and 1,980 mm in width, with heights of 1,510 mm (standard-power version) and 1,490 mm (high-power version), respectively. The standard-power variant has a curb weight of 2,250 kg and a gross vehicle weight of 2,700 kg, equipped with tire sizes of 245/50R19 (front) and 275/45R19 (rear). The high-power version weighs 2,545 kg (curb) and 3,017 kg (gross), fitted with larger 245/45R20 (front) and 275/40R20 (rear) tires. Both versions share a top speed of 250 km/h. Powering the standard variant is a permanent-magnet synchronous motor produced by BYD Auto (Zhengzhou) Co., Ltd., delivering a peak output of 320 kW and a rated power of 160 kW. The high-power version boosts peak output to 370 kW, with a rated power of 185 kW. Both models are equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs, with cells supplied by Hefei BYD Industrial Co., Ltd., and battery assemblies manufactured by Shanwei FinDreams Battery Co., Ltd. The standard-power model comes standard with a panoramic glass roof and offers optional extras including an electric rear spoiler, alternative exterior mirror designs, different door handle styles, and an ETC onboard unit. All variants are standard-equipped with an Event Data Recorder (EDR) system.
